Secure POS Vendor Alliance Releases New Security Requirements

SPVA logo 140pxThe Secure POS Vendor Alliance (Hypercom, Ingenico, and VeriFone) has announced the release of standards for the post manufacturing stage of a secure payment device. "The new guidelines require that a payment device be properly handled from the moment it is produced to the moment it is loaded with customer keys."

VeriFone Acquires End-to-End Encryption Leader Semtek

verifone_logo_140px.pngVeriFone recently announced that it is increasing its emphasis on end-to-end encryption solutions with the acquisition of encryption leader Semtek. VeriFone previously invested in Semtek’s equity funding. The acquisition, effective immediately, enables VeriFone to integrate the development, sales, implementation, and support of end-to-end encryption products into the existing VeriFone organization.

Additionally, VeriFone is offering royalty-free software licenses to device manufacturers and payment processors to further spur market adoption.

Secure POS Vendor Alliance Releases End-to-End Encryption Framework

Secure POS Vendor AllianceThe Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA), a non-profit business organization founded by Hypercom, Ingenico and VeriFone has announced the release of its End-to-End Encryption Security Requirements related to payment card data in payment card reading devices. The paper is targeted to vendors of POS devices and is intended to help create "widespread understanding of payment security issues and the adoption of best practices." READ MORE »

Secure POS Vendor Alliance Announces New Leadership

SPVA_logo-140px.pngThe Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA), a non-profit business organization founded by Hypercom, Ingenico and VeriFone has announced that TK Cheung, vice president global quality & security, Hypercom, will assume the position of SPVA chairman of the board with Paul Rasori, senior vice president, global marketing, VeriFone, stepping in as vice chairman and CTO and Christophe Dolique, executive vice president, global marketing & transaction services, Ingenico, serving as secretary/treasurer. Secure POS Vendor Alliance Adds New Members

Four electronic payment companies - Chase Paymentech, Mustang MicroSystems, Inc., Semtek Corporation and Transaction Network Services - have joined the Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA), a non-profit business organization founded by Hypercom, Ingenico S.A. and VeriFone.
