NYCE has announced that it has signed an agreement with UnionPay (China’s bankcard association) to allow cardholders reciprocal access to ATMs in both networks.

“UnionPay attaches high value to giving UnionPay cards as many access points to their funds as possible. By enhancing the cooperation with its partners, UnionPay is focusing on building broader acceptance in the U.S.,” said Jianbo Cai, First EVP of China UnionPay. “Now more and more ATMs in the U.S. will accept UnionPay cards at key locations that are enabled via the NYCE Payments Network. This new cooperation between UnionPay and NYCE can serve both UnionPay and NYCE cardholders more effectively. We also believe that UnionPay and NYCE will have greater win-win opportunities in the future.”

NYCE has announced that it will begin offering CashEdge Popmoney to its more than 3,000 financial institution clients. But instead of using ACH, the normal Popmoney funds transfer method, the NYCE Payments Network "will provide the ability to transmit the funds between the sender’s account and the receiver’s account in real-time, resulting in the immediate availability of funds."

NYCE has announced that Neil Marcous has been named President of NYCE Payments Network, LLC, and will lead FIS’ Payment Network Solutions business. NYCE Payments Network has published results from a consumer survey finding that "consumers who limit their online shopping say they would make more purchases online if their financial institution offered them a safe payment method." NYCE has announced that it has signed a contract with Verient to conduct a pilot of NYCE’s SafeDebit, an e-commerce payment solution that will enable online shoppers to make purchases on the Internet without sharing their PIN or account information at the merchant’s Web site.
