ShopKeep, LevelUp Launch Integrated Mobile Loyalty Platform for iPad POS

Levelup logo 140px ShopKeep POS, an iPad point of sale solution for small businesses, and LevelUp have announced an integrated solution that lets a merchant process mobile payments and build loyalty right from the store's POS system.

With this new integration, merchants can now ring up sales and accept LevelUp payments right from their ShopKeep POS iPad register without switching devices. ShopKeep POS consolidates the LevelUp transactions with all other transaction information into one simple report that can be accessed anywhere. Merchants benefit from LevelUp's 0% payment processing fees, and can participate in loyalty programs to retain customers.

Marqeta Launches Online-to-Offline Payments and Commerce Platform

Marqeta logo 140x60pxMarqeta has announced a new online-to-offline payments and commerce platform that enables merchants to leverage their own prepaid loyalty program without any new software or hardware at the point of sale.

“We based our technology on two key hypotheses – consumers will always be more loyal to their own money than to any given brand, while merchants will always be willing to reward shoppers who commit dollars before they walk in the door. After nearly nine months in the Bay Area and with more than 250 merchants signed on, we’ve proven these theories to be true and are focused on scaling our platform quickly and broadly.”

American Express and LevelUp Introduce Seamless Process for Redeeming Loyalty Deals

Amex logo 140pxAmerican Express and LevelUp have announced a multi-city pilot with the Levi’s® brand that introduces “couponless” loyalty offers.

American Express’ Smart Offer APIs will now enable cardmembers to redeem LevelUp deals by simply enrolling and using their cards – removing the need for punch-cards, coupons, and the associated hassle at the point of sale. When a cardmember uses his or her enrolled card at a merchant, the LevelUp savings will be automatically delivered via a statement credit to the card account. Eligible cardmembers will instantly receive notification via their mobile devices indicating that a statement credit is on its way and that they have “leveled up,” unlocking the next, richer offer from that merchant.

Cardmobili Launches Mobile Loyalty and Member Service App on iPhone

CardmobiliCardmobili has announced the launch of a free application for consumers that it says "takes advantage of cloud computing infrastructure to unburden consumers from carrying physical loyalty, membership, rewards and association cards and makes them available on their mobile phone. Cardmobili’s smart application aligns merchants and consumers with personalized communication, heightened services and greater control and ease of managing all types of card affiliations and programs through one central device." Mobile UsersIn an article titled "Cellphone in New Role: Loyalty Card", Claire Cain Miller writes for the New York Times about how companies like FourSquare, Loopt, Shopkick and GoWalla "are experimenting with ways to use cellphones to bridge the digital and physical worlds and turn the tasks of everyday life, like buying coffee and running errands, into a game."

RewardsNOWRewardsNOW has announced closing a $7.5 million investment from Edison Venture Fund. The company provides customer loyalty programs to more than 300 financial institutions. Founded in 1997, RewardsNOW designs, implements and manages turnkey direct marketing and loyalty programs for the full range of financial services including credit cards, debit cards, loans, deposits and online banking. MasterCard has announced the availability of M/Chip Advance, a payment platform takes traditional debit, credit and prepaid chip cards to the next level by advancing payment functionality, facilitating deployment of contactless applications and integrating information needed for business applications such as transit and loyalty. INSIDE Contactless Powers Taggo Stickers

INSIDE Contactless has announced that it is providing critical infrastructure components to Taggo, a membership card aggregator and storefront, for the new service Taggo will launch in Singapore and other parts of South East Asia early next year. Using ID stickers based on INSIDE's PicoPass(r) 2KS contactless memory chip, contactless readers based on INSIDE's M210-2G proximity coupler and INSIDE's integration and adoption services, Taggo has developed a way for mobile phone stickers to replace plastic loyalty and membership cards from a variety of retail merchants. Using Contactless Stickers as Loyalty Cards

INSIDE Contactless has announced a partnership with ADELYA, a Software-as-a-Service company specializing in contactless and mobile loyalty and relationship programs, to enable consumers to conduct retail loyalty, ticketing, low-end ID and other transactions using the mobile phones they already have. INSIDE Contactless is providing ADELYA with PicoPass contactless stickers to transform mobile phones into contactless loyalty cards. Danversbank's Blended Debit Card Rewards Powered by Metavante

Metavante_logo-140px.jpgMetavante has announced that Danversbank has deployed its expanded rewards and loyalty product to offer Danversbank's clients a blended rewards program that combines issuer- and merchant-funded rewards. "Through its deployment of Points2U Plus, Danversbank now awards cardholders with bonus points for debit card-based transactions made at participating retailers — this is in addition to the points a cardholder already earns by using their Dansverbank-issued debit card. The bank is also leveraging Points2U Plus to award double points for card use during seasonal promotions, as well as to reward cardholders with additional loyalty points for the use of other Danversbank services." Shell's Gasoline Card Loyalty Program

In a press release this morning, Shell said 'don't be surprised if you see drivers smiling as they fill up at Shell-branded gasoline stations this summer. They'll likely be taking advantage of an "Earn 25 Cents per Gallon" second quarter promotion designed to reward new Shell Gasoline Card consumer account holders for their gasoline purchases.'

At its annual meeting today, Starbucks announced several new initiatives including adding a new rewards feature for registered users of its Starbucks Card. Starbucks says that currently one in seven customers uses the Starbucks Card to pay.

Single Touch Interactive and InComm have announced that they have partnered to provide customers with mobile coupons through retail loyalty cards. According to the two companies, "combining InComm’s point of sale integration at over 100,000 top national retail stores with Single Touch Interactive’s ADC mobile technology creates an easy to use mobile coupon platform that doesn’t change customer or retailer behavior."
