Swizznet to Offer Hosted QuickBooks POS in a Multi-Lane Environment

Swizznet logo 140x60pxSwizznet announced it is expanding its offerings by to offer cloud-hosted QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 for both single- and multi-lane environments.

The multi-lane capability allows retailers with more than one cash register to utilize the service -- whether it's at multiple locations or multiple points of sale within one store. With multi-lane, retailers benefit from instant access to financial data that gives a complete picture of all of their sales and inventory from all points of sale. Swizznet, the most technically sophisticated of online accounting providers, collaborated with Intuit for months on cloud-enabling multi-lane.

Intuit Acquires Payvment's Team, Technology, and Patents

Intuit logo 140pxPayvement, a leading eCommerce enabler on Facebook, has announced that it is shutting down and transitioning it merchant based to Ecwid. But TechCrunch has the backstory:

Earlier today Facebook ecommerce platform Payvment announced it was shutting down and transitioning its 200,000 merchants to competitor Ecwid, but we’ve just discovered that’s because Intuit is acquiring Payvment’s team, technology, and patents.

QuickBooks Point of Sale Goes Mobile With GoPayment

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has announced the its newest point-of-sale product that integrates with GoPayment mobile payment processing support.

“With 10 years of point of sale experience, we understand the challenges small retailers face when trying to grow their business,” said Chris Hylen, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Payment Solutions division. “By integrating QuickBooks Point of Sale 2013 with GoPayment, we’re liberating retailers from their cash registers so they can better serve their customers and ring up more sales both in the store and on the go.”

Money See, MoneyDue

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has launched MoneyDue, a free app that turns business appointments into payment reminders on iPhone and iPod Touch devices. "The new app from Intuit PaymentNetwork uses the calendar feature on the iPhone or iPod Touch to convert calendar appointments into payment reminders, and gives small business owners the ability to see payments owed and payments received through their calendar appointments."

Survey Says Small Businesses Not Accepting Cards Miss Out on $100 Billion Per Year

Intuit logo 140pxAccording to a recently released Intuit GoPayment survey, 55% of the nation’s 27 million small businesses do not accept credit cards.

Intuit estimates that each business that does not accept plastic misses out on approximately $7,000 in sales annually, equating to approximately more than $100 billion in collective lost revenue. This missed opportunity represents a combination of new sales and sales that go to other businesses that accept credit cards.

Payments Views - PayPal Takes on Square and the Square Wannabes

The story here is simplicity. The merchant fee for PayPal Here transactions is 2.7%. Slightly lower than Square, and about the same as Intuit GoPayments. The big differences is access to funds. Just like online merchants, offline merchants are credited sales into their PayPal account in real-time as purchases complete.

Intuit GoPayment Hits the Campaign Trail

“We saw a need to help fundraisers significantly increase their political donations, especially at events or when going door-to-door, when not everyone has cash or checks,” said Chris Hylen, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Payment Solutions division. “We’ve enhanced GoPayment specifically for campaign donations. With just one swipe, fundraisers can easily increase their donations while collecting all information needed to help them meet their reporting requirements.”

GoPayment Goes Global – First Stop Canada

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has announced that it plans to take its free GoPayment mobile credit card app and card reader hardware global, with the first implementation in Canada. In addition, Intuit will soon begin shipping a free, newly-designed GoPayment Card Reader in both the U.S. and Canada.

This innovative card reader is a compact, cylinder-shaped device that helps maximize sales with new features that increase the accuracy of each card swipe. Providing greater security than available on other devices, it includes best-in-class, end-to-end encryption that protects a customer’s sensitive credit card data from the moment a card is swiped.

GoPayment for Canada and the new GoPayment card reader will both be available in early 2012.

Intuit Announces Availability of GoPayment Prepaid Visa Card

Intuit logo 140pxAs part of its GoPayment mobile payment offering, Intuit has announced the launch of the Intuit GoPayment Prepaid Visa Card.

“The GoPayment Card adds new value to those using GoPayment. In addition to helping them get paid, we’re helping them make payments,” said Chris Hylen, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s Payment Solutions division. “This is just the beginning. Intuit will roll out new, innovative features for GoPayment that help users make payments in a variety of ways.”

Intuit to Launch Prepaid Debit Card to Support GoPayment

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has announced a number of new services designed to fuel Intuit's transformation from a software company to a connected services company. Included in the announcement was a new prepaid debit card for use as a Intuit GoPayment payout instrument.

To make it easier for small businesses to get started processing credit cards on a mobile device, GoPayment will soon enable users to deposit funds directly onto a prepaid debit card. This will make it faster to start taking payments because new users can sign up for GoPayment without needing to provide bank account details. For smaller businesses, it also provides a convenient way to keep their business finances separate from their personal funds. The prepaid debit card for GoPayment will be available later this fall.

Verizon Wireless and Intuit Team Up to Offer GoPayment on Verizon Devices

Intuit logo 140pxVerizon Wireless and Intuit have announced a strategic alliance to offering Intuit's GoPayment app and pocket-sized credit card reader in Verizon Wireless' 2,300 retail stores and business-to-business sales channels.

"Rather than lose out on potential business, anyone who sells a product or service can now easily and affordably give their customers the option of paying with plastic," said Chris Hylen, general manager of Intuit's Payment Solutions division. "GoPayment is meeting a huge need and is one of the fastest growing mobile payment solutions in the market. With Verizon Wireless, we'll help even more people discover that they too can process credit card payments on the phones or tablets they already own."

Intuit Buys Mobile Money Ventures Platform

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has announced it has acquired mobile Web banking technology assets from Mobile Money Ventures, or MMV, a "leading global provider of next-generation mobile financial solutions."

Mobile Money Ventures, based in San Mateo, Calif., was formed in 2008 as a joint venture that combined the strengths of Citigroup, a leading, global financial services company, and SK Telecom Americas, an early-stage technology innovator.

Intuit PaymentNetwork Now Available to QuickBooks Online Users

Intuit logo 140pxOver on the Quickbooks Online Blog, Intuit has announced that the Intuit PaymentNetwork (IPN) is now seamlessly integrated with QuickBooks Online.

A small business can now send an invoice through QuickBooks Online and get paid fast using IPN. QuickBooks online invoices enabled for online payments will now have a link for the end customer to directly pay the small business. The plot thickens with the added benefits of low cost (only 50 cent/payment), faster funding (next day funding for most payments less than $5000) and automatic reconciliation.

GoPayment iPad App Now Available in the Apple App Store

Intuit logo 140pxIntuit has announced that its iPad-optimized GoPayment app is now available on the App Store.

This optimized version of the GoPayment app makes mobile payments easier with a new layout that takes full advantage of iPad's large, high-resolution display and Multi-Touch interface. It also includes new features such as the ability to add product photos, making it easier to find a product and complete a sale. GoPayment is also compatible with the free Intuit Credit Card Reader letting users save time by swiping credit cards instead of entering card data manually.
