InComm Launches Cashtie™ Cloud Match Service

InComm logo 140pxInComm has announced the launch of the Cashtie™ Cloud Match Service - describing it as a "RESTful API that enables loyalty program, mobile wallet and digital coupon providers to offer their capabilities to InComm's retail network without lengthy integration or new hardware to install at a retailer's point-of-sale (POS). InComm's Cashtie Cloud Match Service enables providers and retailers to manage and process mobile barcode transactions without any changes to the POS system, leveraging the established host-to-host connectivity between InComm and the retailer and InComm's barcode activation.

Cashtie Cloud Match provides a solution that works today to enable retailers and emerging payment and loyalty providers to transact," said Thomas Cornelius, senior vice president, InComm. "While other options are available, they require changes to the cash register or the installation of expensive new equipment, so for the first time partners and retailers leveraging Cashtie's Cloud Match solution can offer new payment, coupon and loyalty solutions that their customers demand today, while the hardware and software upgrade cycle of retailers may still be years out."
Here is how the Cashtie service works: a consumer selects to display a barcode for a coupon, payment or loyalty transaction within a mobile application and presents the barcode on their mobile phone to a cashier to be scanned. When the barcode is scanned from the mobile phone at the POS, the Cashtie Cloud Match Service instantly receives the transaction information.

The cloud match service uses the transaction details to match, in the cloud, the transaction at a specific cash register within a particular retail location and the provider that is associated with the barcode. Cashtie then shares this information with the provider, who matches it to a specific consumer and responds with the transaction details for making a payment, receiving a discount or gaining loyalty points. Cashtie then sends the details for the transaction back to the POS either via InComm's proprietary switching technology, as part of InComm's Enhanced Payment Platform or to any third party switching solution used by the retailer. All of this occurs in real-time.

Cashtie Cloud Match is a RESTful API and providers can request access via http://www.cashtie.com/cloudmatch.

InComm Introduces Cashtie API for Cash Payments at Retail

InComm logo 140pxInComm has announced Cashtie - calling it a "a powerful API that links retail cash payments via an existing point-of-sale (POS) system to software applications. Cashtie enables ecommerce and bill payment software providers to quickly and easily add cash payment options to their existing applications. Cashtie customers can leverage InComm's global retail network, turning nearly 400,000 points of retail distribution into a cash payment location with no additional POS integration required."

We are opening up InComm's prepaid rails to service providers, allowing them to instantly connect any of their applications to a retailer's cash register," said Thomas Cornelius , SVP at InComm.

"Currently, the biggest obstacle for companies wishing to build a cash payment network is creating relationships with retailers and then integrating with their POS systems – a process that can take years. Cashtie customers, on the other hand, can leverage InComm's already established retail network. Within as little time as a few weeks, software service providers seamlessly give companies the ability to offer their customers more flexibility and convenience in how they pay for products and services while retailers increase foot traffic in stores."

Cashtie is a RESTful API. InComm clients can request access via www.cashtie.com.

InComm Acquires On-Line Strategies

InComm logo 140pxInComm has announced its acquisition of On-Line Strategies, Inc. (OLS), a software and services company focused on processing complex, large-volume and high-speed consumer-driven transactions in mission-critical environments.

"The market has shown growing demand for a comprehensive, powerful, low-cost processing engine, and given recent consolidation in the industry, we see this as a perfect time to offer our products and services to a broader customer base," said Terry Richards , CEO, OLS. "InComm was an ideal partner, considering our overlapping customer base, its reputation as a retail solutions provider in the industry and its strong balance sheet. OLS will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary with its current management team in place, and is immediately available to provide InComm's customers and partners access to its advanced switch technology.

InComm Acquires Restricted Spend Payment Company Medagate Corp

InComm logo 140pxInComm announced that it has acquired Medagate Corporation, the company that powers OTCNetwork, the only national closed loop over-the-counter (OTC) healthcare benefits payments platform.

Medagate's technology platform supports several applications that enable retail and healthcare to intersect at the point of sale, enabling insured health plan members as well as Medicare and Medicaid members to access and spend their monthly healthcare benefits in an easy and familiar manner.

All current employees of Medagate will remain with the company, with its existing management continuing to run the day-to-day operations.

InComm Introduces Prepaid to the Discount Channel in Japan

InComm logo 140pxInComm has announced that it is teaming up with Don Quijote, Japan's largest discount store chain, to launch a suite of point-of-sale activation (POSA) prepaid products utilizing InComm's Fastcard technology at all of its retail locations.

While most retailers in North America regularly use POSA technology to enable display merchandising of gift and prepaid cards, the Don Quijote launch represents the first roll out of this technology in the major discount store industry in Japan.

MoneyGram and InComm to Offer MoneyGram Xpress In-lane Money Transfer Service

MoneyGram logo 140pxMoneyGram and InComm have announced an agreement where InComm will assist MoneyGram in the distribution and activation of MoneyGram Xpress packages in select outlets in InComm’s network of more than 225,000 retail locations.

“We are pleased to introduce this new money transfer service and bring a whole new level of ease and convenience to our consumers,” said Stu Kiefer, MoneyGram vice president of product management. “Prepaid money transfers allow consumers to pay for the transfer amount and fees at the same time as they make other retail purchases and then actually make the transfer when convenient for them – online or by phone. The product broadens ways to access money transfer services and for many, assists with time and money management.”

Western Union and InComm to Offer General Purpose Reloadable Prepaid Cards

inComm_logo-140px.png WesternUnion_logo-140px.png Western Union and InComm have announced that they have entered into an agreement to offer Western Union General Purpose Reloadable prepaid cards (GPR) through InComm retail locations.

InComm partners with more than 150,000 retail locations. Through its relationship with InComm, Western Union will now offer the MoneyWise Prepaid card to consumers through grocery and convenience stores, pharmacies, and mass merchandiser locations.
