  • Wells Fargo Launches Third Propel American Express Card - “In 2014, we launched our first two Propel American Express Cards as part of our goal to earn more of our customers’ business,” said Beverly Anderson, head of Consumer Financial Services for Wells Fargo. “Since then, we have heard from our customers that they like the Propel 365 Card and Propel World Card but wanted us to find a way to offer a card with similar features without paying an annual fee – so that’s what we did.”
  • More Leading Merchants Choose Visa Checkout to Increase Online and Mobile Sales - "Starbucks, Walgreens, NFL Shop, HSN and Match are among the new merchants taking advantage of Visa Checkout’s ability to deliver seamless digital payments. will also begin supporting Visa Checkout this year."
  • Introducing Uber Trip Experiences - "During the holidays, we completed our billionth trip. Added together that’s a lot of time riders spend in an Uber. Which got us thinking … what if developers could also offer users of their apps new ways to enjoy themselves — or get stuff done — while they’re on the road?"
  • FreedomPay Expands Global Products and Services on Microsoft Azure - "With this collaboration, FreedomPay offers end-to-end protection for credit card payments made through FreedomPay’s Commerce Platform, which is supported by Azure. The FreedomPay Commerce Platform is the world’s first PCI-Validated P2PE payments solution with EMV, NFC, DCC and real-time data capabilities that can deliver on a global scale."
  • Remitly Approaches $1 Billion in Annualized Mobile Money Transfers as Company Continues Rapid Growth - "Remitly offers money transfers from the United States to the Philippines, India and Mexico, which alone account for more than 35 percent of all remittances originating in the United States. The company will continue to take a customer-focused approach by focusing on the largest markets as it expands globally."
  • Network International to launch cashless, cardless and mobile-free payment solution - "The next generation solution, led by Dubai Smart Government (DSG) and developed by Quisk, will be deployed by Network International across its points of sale (POS) merchant network in the United Arab Emirates in 2016, enabling people to conduct payment transactions without the use of cash, cards or their mobile phones."

  • MasterCard Extends Partnership with Samsung to Deliver Samsung Pay in Europe - “Samsung Pay is pleased to join forces with MasterCard to offer a simple and safe mobile payment experience enabled for wider merchant acceptance to MasterCard cardholders and issuers in Europe,” said Injong Rhee, EVP of Samsung Electronics, Global Head of Samsung Pay. “Both organizations are committed to ground breaking fin-tech innovations that will deliver on the promise of a true mobile wallet.”
  • Instant Access to Information Changing Consumer Search Patterns When It Comes to Choosing Banking Products - “As financial institution customers have more and more interactions with consumer brands that provide multi-channel communications, they will demand those same channels when it comes to their interaction with banks and credit unions,” explained Scott Wallace, vice president of marketing, Deluxe Financial Services. “We believe this survey shows that customers want multiple research channels and tools before they will engage their local branch to open a new account.”
  • TSYS and Acquirer Systems Launch ASTREX to Simplify EMV Certification Process - “By using our simulator tool, VARs and ISVs can gain an edge on the competition by bringing powerful and efficient EMV solutions to market faster,” said Craig Ludwig, head of product for TSYS’ Merchant Services segment. “This not only allows them to easily meet the rapidly approaching October 1 EMV liability shift date, but also affords them the opportunity to offer EMV support to their merchants in an expedited timeframe — increasing the quality of their clients’ overall experience.”

  • FreedomPay Adopts Credit Union Financial Exchange Standards - BCU Director of Enterprise Architecture Tim Tibbals said, “The CUFX standards were written to be flexible and were applied to the FreedomPay project to 1) allow for Single-Sign-On using the highest industry standards for credential management and authorization, 2) set up accounts on the FreedomPay platform, 3) allow the FreedomPay platform to pull accounts lists and member info in real time from BCU systems in a secure manner, including double encryption of transmitted data, and 4) communicate information back to BCU’s systems to keep information in sync between BCU and FreedomPay.”

Deluxe Launches 'SwitchAgent' to Ease Burden of Bank Account Transfer

Deluxe logo 140pxDeluxe Corporation has announced the launch of 'SwitchAgent', a "new solution for banks and credit unions that allows consumers to easily switch from one financial institution to another… The banks and credit unions using Deluxe’s SwitchAgent service in the beta experienced a 70 percent switch completion rate."

Stand Up For Your Right to Write Checks

As part of the launch, IPSOS has announced survey results that show 75% of consumers insist they should have the freedom to pay at stores or restaurants with whatever method they choose – check, credit card, debit card, or cash.
