Coinstar E-Payment Services has announced that it will launch a line of digital entertainment products in U.S. retail locations. According to the company, it has "partnered with leading online game companies including Aeria Games, Rixty Inc., Spare Change and Wild Tangent, to offer more than 15 products that provide consumers flexible online spending options. The new prepaid offerings are expected to be available at more than 500 Cumberland Farms retail locations this summer, and Coinstar plans to roll out the program to additional retailers later this year." Coinstar E-Payment Services Limited and PayPoint have announced an agreement to team and to make available a gift card program for PayPoint retailers at more than 17,000 outlets in the United Kingdom.

Coinstar has announced that CVS/pharmacy is expected to have gift cards available in more than 360 Coinstar Center kiosks in CVS/pharmacy stores this summer. The Coin to Card service allows consumers to convert their loose change to a CVS card at the Coinstar kiosk and pay no coin-counting fee.

Coinstar and First Data Corp. have announced an agreement between Money Network Financial LLC, a First Data company, and Coinstar E-Payment Services Inc., a Coinstar company, to offer the Money Network Pay Card through select Coinstar kiosks.

As mentioned yesterday, West Coast Bank is now offering its banking customers the Coinstar line of gift card, prepaid wireless, cash card, and phone card products. According to a press release issued this afternoon, included in the products being offered are gift cards from food, entertainment and retail businesses including Chili's, Borders, Starbucks, Circuit City, AMC Theatres, KB Toys, and Timberland along with Green Dot prepaid debit cards.

The Portland Business Journal reports that West Coast Bank has announced a deal with Coinstar to offer prepaid gift cards through jointly administered kiosks in West Coast's branches. According to the article, "Lake Oswego-based West Coast Bank will join Coinstar, of Bellevue, as it becomes one of the country's first banks to offer cards from numerous merchants within its branches."

Coinstar has announced Eddie Bauer as the latest addition to its Coin to Card program. Consumers pay no coin-counting fee when converting their loose change to a variety of nationally-branded gift cards and eCertificates at Coinstar Centers. Eddie Bauer is the first apparel eCertificate in the Coin to Card program and it is currently available at more than 6,500 Coinstar supermarket and drug store locations across the United States.

Mark Mahorney writes on the blog Seeking Alpha about Coinstar's prepaid cards for coins program - saying "I know it’s not very logical, but I think I’m a lot more likely to toss my coins into their machine if I can get a card for some free coffee or a free book."

Coinstar has announced the expansion of its gift card mall program into the United Kingdom. Coinstar says its gift card mall consists of a display rack of leading dining, clothing, entertainment, book, home and service gift cards strategically placed in-store for shopper convenience.

Coinstar has announced signing a definitive agreement to purchase Travelex Money Transfer Ltd. for approximately $27 million in cash. TMT is the third largest money transfer network in terms of agent locations and countries in which they do business. Currently TMT operates an agent network in over 17,000 locations in 138 countries.

The Coinstar and Amazon agreement makes it possible for customers to exchange coins and also bills at Coinstar Centers -- with no transaction fee -- for a gift certificate redeemable at Amazon.com.
