Billeo has announced its Active eWallet API, "a tool that allows card issuers to add their cards as a payment option in Billeo's Active Context platform.

By adding a credit, debit, prepaid or gift card to Billeo's platform, the issuer is instantly connected to the more than 1.5 million consumers who use Billeo's free iPad and browser apps to shop or pay bills online.

Cartera Commerce and Billeo have announced a strategic partnership and a joint solution to help consumers find and redeem multi-channel card-linked offers -- from both online and in-store retailers -- as they search and shop the Web.

The new solution, combining Cartera's award-winning card-linked offer platform with Billeo's patented context-aware browser technology, will instantly alert consumers browsing the Web to relevant card-linked offers in Web search results and on retailers' Websites. Billeo has announced an iPad-based, browser shopping service being previewed at FinovateSpring 2011. The new service, called ShopSmart, "helps Billeo's partners optimize rewards and loyalty programs by layering offers directly into people's search results to alert shoppers when a relevant discount is available. The app also connects shoppers with their Facebook friends, allowing financial institutions to become part of the vibrant online conversations already happening around shopping and daily deals."

American Express announced today the launch of inSite from American Express, an "innovative new shopping tool that delivers Membership Rewards bonus points, discounts, free shipping and other special benefits exclusively to American Express Cardmembers as they shop online." American Express partnered with Billeo, Inc. to develop inSite exclusively for Cardmembers.

Billeo has announced an expansion of its Biller Directory to help consumers pay their bills instantly with a credit, debit or prepaid card at more than 10,000 companies across 26 categories – from cable service providers to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Billeo and NetSpend have announced an online service designed to help consumers pay their bills using their NetSpend cards, giving them access to financial tools that the majority of Americans now enjoy.
