BidPay Adds Integrated Checkout Options

BidPay has announced that online sellers and third party developers can now integrate BidPay as a payment option on their checkout pages allowing sellers to use BidPay as an alternative payment service across all online marketplaces from auctions to traditional Web stores.

BidPay Lowers Pricing, Improves Usability

BidPay has announced it is reducing the fees it charges online merchants and auction sellers and streamlining the purchase process when BidPay is used. On a $50 purchase, fees paid by merchants on domestic US payments will be reduced from $1.75 to $1.345 - a 23% reduction.

Consumer Reports takes a look at several online payment services, including Google Checkout, PayPal and Bill Me Later, that it says "can offer added security in an electronic world vulnerable to credit-card fraud and identity theft." The article adds "but they’re far from foolproof."

Auction Payment Service BidPay Re-Opens

CyberSource and, Inc. have announced the re-launch of the popular BidPay auction payment service. Acquired by CyberSource in March 2006, BidPay "now returns with a number of competitive innovations including seller protection and the ability for sellers to accept payments from buyers around the world."

BidPayCyberSource has announced that it has acquired, Inc. from First Data Corporation. In exchange for $1.8 million in cash, CyberSource acquired proprietary technology, databases, and certain intellectual property rights, including exclusive rights to the brand.

FDC's BidPay Introduces Direct-to-Bank Payment Option

First Data Corp.'s has introduced a new direct-to-bank payment option for online auction payments. Sellers can receive payments from BidPay within approximately three banking business days. The BidPay service is free to sellers with buyers paying all of the BidPay service fees starting at a minimum of $1.95 per transaction.
