The KFC Yum! Center is the first sports arena to allow visitors to pay with their mobile phone at all hospitality and merchandise stands thanks to hospitality partner Centerplate, which announced that it has tapped LevelUp to provide the KFC Yum! Center's mobile payment experience at 200 merchandise and hospitality stands.

"The KFC Yum! Center is at the forefront of the mobile payment revolution by adopting LevelUp at massive scale throughout the arena," said LevelUp's Seth Priebatsch. "Now anyone visiting the KFC Yum! Center can have a dead-simple way to pay and get rewarded for their loyalty. We're excited to be a part of such an innovative approach from Lousiville's largest venue."

In related news, LevelUp also announced a partnership with NetSpend that will offer a $10 incentive to consumers who link their NetSpend prepaid cards to their LevelUp accounts.

FIS announced that American Express has selected FIS’ InstantFunds Mobile technology to provide mobile-driven remote check capture for Bluebird accounts.

“Consumers are increasingly mobile and tech-savvy and constantly seek convenience. They want the option to perform any financial or purchasing transaction with a mobile phone,” explained Gary Norcross, president and chief operating officer, FIS. “We recognized the opportunity to offer a mobile solution that brings more secure, self-service capabilities to consumers and we’re excited that American Express has teamed with FIS to support its innovative Bluebird offering.”

FIS InstantFunds Mobile enables consumers to use their smartphones to scan a check and add funds into their account, thus limiting fraud by leveraging FIS’ analytics and payment guaranty technologies.

Tabbedout announced that it is now enabling major brands to push offers directly to consumers via its self-checkout app, launching first in the Denver market with Shiner Beers.

The Tabbedout app provides a vehicle for beer and liquor brands to extend a tab discount or IRC to customers for trying their product. Now available in Denver, when a consumer opens a tab using Tabbedout, they will see offers available to redeem for tab discounts when they order any Shiner Beer. Tabbedout's unique mobile payment platform allows the user to control their experience by redeeming the offer and applying the discount directly to their tab in real time from their phone. If the user forgets to redeem before paying their tab, the app will send a notice to apply the discount before final payment is made.
