PayPal Introduces PayPal Payments

PayPal logo 140pxPayPal has introduced what it's calling a "comprehensive revamp" of its products - focusing on being a complete payments provider for small businesses. In a blog post by PayPal's Ed Eger, PayPal noted that it has dropped the word "website" from its US product names - highlighting its move away from its traditional online payments role to one of providing multi-channel payment solutions for small businesses. Eger wrote:
We already have – hands down – THE most comprehensive set of small business products on the market. Nobody even compares. And, it’s about to get even better with PayPal Payments.

“Through our relationship with merchants, we know they are looking for a more reliable, global and stand-alone e-commerce payment solution,” said Suzan Kereere, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Global Network Business at American Express. “We are delighted to work with TNS to address this need. The American Express Payment Gateway will enable businesses to focus their efforts on expanding their market reach, while we manage the processing, security and service behind online card acceptance.”
The solution enables businesses to quickly and easily set up the ability to manage e-commerce and other card-not-present transactions and provides fraud and card data security for those transactions.
