First Data Reports 1Q2011 Results

First data logo 140pxFirst Data has reported its financial results for 1Q2011. Consolidated revenue for the first quarter increased $142 million to $2.5 billion, up 6% compared to $2.4 billion a year ago. "Revenue growth was primarily attributable to increases in debit network fees, merchant related services from the favorable impact of U.S. economic growth, and improved international volumes."

MasterCard Announces 1Q2011 Financial Results

MasterCard logo 140pxMasterCard has announced financial results for the first quarter 2011. Net revenue for the first quarter of 2011 was $1.5 billion, a 14.8% increase versus the same period in 2010. Worldwide purchase volume during the quarter was up 12.9% on a local currency basis versus the first quarter of 2010, to $545 billion. Cross-border volume was up 18.5%.

WorldPay to Acquire Envoy Services

Worldpay logo 140pxWorldPay has announced that it is set to acquire Envoy Services Limited, a provider of alternative payment solutions to eCommerce merchants worldwide, for an undisclosed amount.
Established in 2005, Envoy is a UK FSA-regulated global payments service that offers single point access to popular local payment and collection services worldwide. The company provides international eCommerce merchants with the broadest coverage for alternative payment acceptance through a global network of over 200 local bank accounts and 40 alternative payment services as well as a leading fraud screening service. The company is headquartered in London.
In related news, ACI Worldwide announced that WorldPay has recommitted to ACI's BASE24 authorization switch.

MasterCard Targets Brazil's 75M Unbanked with Reloadable Prepaid Card

MasterCard logo 140pxMasterCard, along with Banco PanAmericano and Rev Worldwide Brazil, have announced availability of Brazil's first reloadable prepaid card. "The PanAmericano MasterCard Prepaid Card is the only general purpose reloadable prepaid card available in Brazil today and does not limit the card's use to specific transactions like existing prepaid products."
