PlaySpan Launches In-App Mobile Payments for Android

playspan_logo_140px.pngPlaySpan has announced the launch of UltimatePay Mobile, a "virtual currency and micropayments monetization widget for leading smartphone platforms." The initial private beta launch will support HTML5, and is designed to work on all Android* smartphones, as well as Nokia phones with WebRuntime installed.

SUBWAY to Use FaceCash Mobile Payments

facecash_logo.gifDoctor's Associates, the parent company of SUBWAY, and Think Computer Corporation have announced that FaceCash will now be accepted at certain SUBWAY locations in California. FaceCash is a mobile payment system that allows consumers to use their cell phones to make purchases at the point of sale. "FaceCash gets its name from its unique security process. During a purchase, the consumer's face appears on the merchant's register to verify identity."

Western Union Partners with MTN Group on Cross-Border Mobile Money Transfer Service in 21 Countries

WesternUnion_logo-140px.jpgMTN Group, the leading mobile operator in Africa and the Middle East, and Western Union have announced a commercial agreement to introduce international mobile remittance services in the 21 countries where MTN operates. This will allow MTN subscribers to send and receive Western Union Money Transfer transactions using their MTN MobileMoney accounts.

Sprint Partners With doxo To Provide Paperless Billing

doxo+sprint.pngSprint announced a partnership with doxo to offer its customers a "new, easy-to-use paperless billing solution". Sprint customers will be able to receive, manage and file all of their Sprint bills through doxo.

American Express Tool Points out Offers to Cardmembers As They Shop Online

Amex_logo_140px.pngAmerican Express announced today the launch of inSite from American Express, an "innovative new shopping tool that delivers Membership Rewards bonus points, discounts, free shipping and other special benefits exclusively to American Express Cardmembers as they shop online." American Express partnered with Billeo, Inc. to develop inSite exclusively for Cardmembers.

Sheetz Offers Rewards Debit Card Powered by Tempo

Tempo_logo_140px.pngTempo has announced that the Sheetz convenience store chain is now utilizing the Tempo web-based debit card platform to offer debit/rewards cards that can be used everywhere Discover cards are accepted. Tempo’s "unique software-as-a-service technology makes it easy for companies to offer rewards debit cards and provide the ability to link an independent branded debit card to a customer’s existing checking account, a capability sometimes referred to as decoupled debit."

Early Warning Services Acquires Risk Analytics business from ALI Solutions

The acquisition will "significantly enhance the strength and capabilities of EWS by providing it with one of the most sophisticated combinations of risk solutions and analytic modeling personnel in the financial services sector." As part of the transaction, EWS entered into an alliance agreement with ALI to enhance their customer outreach solutions to be ‘Early Warning enabled’ for financial institutions.

Federal Reserve Reports Decrease in Consumer Credit

Fed.gifThe US Federal Reserve has reported its latest G.19 Consumer Credit statistics - finding that "consumer credit declined 1-1/2 percent at an annual rate in the third quarter. Revolving credit declined 8-3/4 percent at an annual rate, and nonrevolving credit increased 2-1/2 percent. In September, consumer credit increased 1 percent at an annual rate."
