SunTrust and Delta Air Lines have announced that consumers and businesses will soon be able to earn Delta miles on all signature-based purchases made with a new SunTrust SkyMiles Check Card, launching June 22. According to the two companies, "this will be the first time Delta has offered mileage-earning opportunities through a check card, and is the first co-branded check card relationship for SunTrust." EuroCommerce, an association of European retailers, has announced that it is lodging a new complaint against Visa Europe. In a press release, EuroCommerce said that "the fees, set by Visa and its member banks and imposed on retailers, constitute an infringement of European competition law. It was the imposition of exactly such fees which led the European Commission to rule against MasterCard in December 2007. EuroCommerce calls for the same robust decision against Visa." READ MORE »

Merchant e-Solutions has announced the addition of Visa and MasterCard automatic account updating services for e-commerce and card-not-present merchants that specialize in recurring billing. According to the company, "pproximately half of all card accounts change annually in an issuing bank's portfolio, which can lead to denial of transactions billed to outdated cards." READ MORE »
