OneTouch Online Purchasing Adds Facebook Payment Plugin
eBIZ.mobility has announced a new Facebook payment plugin for its OneTouch Online Purchasing payment processing system. According to the company, "the new payment plugin allows application developers to monetize their Facebook traffic in 26 countries by adding an alternative payment option into their offerings." OneTouch says it "provides developers with a 77% revenue share and settles monthly."
Since Facebook began allowing third-party applications on its platform two years ago, over 52,000 applications have been added by developers eager to reach the worldwide Facebook customer base of over 200 million users. According to Facebook, over 70% of Facebook users interact with platform applications each month.
While application developers can use the new Facebook payment plugin to process payments of any amount, the new system is predominantly designed to process global micropayments profitably. Using the system, consumers can make purchases from any location without using a credit card and while keeping their personal information completely private.
According to Jeremy Kagan, eBIZ.mobility's CEO, micropayments are reinventing the online monetization model.
"OneTouch Online Purchasing is very excited to be in a position to take full advantage of the micropayment revolution internationally," said Kagan. "More than 70% of Facebook users are based outside the USA, and now every application that's built for Facebook can be quickly and easily monetized worldwide, guaranteeing that any customer anywhere in the world can purchase safely and effortlessly."
