- NACHA has announced that Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) will offer NACHA’s Secure Vault Payments solution to its clients. FIS will offer Secure Vault Payments to current clients as well as financial institutions without an existing relationship with FIS. - The Mobey Forum has announced a new document titled "Best Practice for Mobile Financial Services — Enrolment Business Model Analysis" that examines "the challenge of sharing a mobile handset's secure hardware, the so-called secure element." (See more Mobile Payments news.)
- PayPal News
- eBay and PayPal announced improved protections for buyers and sellers on eBay.com, in time for this year's holiday shopping season. (See more Ecommerce Payments and PayPal news.)
- PayPal has announced a new Developer Central portal saying it is "designed to help developers support growing merchant demand for online payments." PayPal also introduced new application programming interfaces (APIs) to give merchants more flexibility to manage their customer transactions. (See more Ecommerce Payments and PayPal news.)
- Unbanked/Underbanked News
- The Smart Card Alliance Transportation Council has announced publication of a new white paper, "Serving Unbanked Consumers in the Transit Industry with Prepaid Cards” , that examines how transit agencies can serve "unbanked" or "underbanked" individuals, including both the traditional approach of establishing retail sales outlets for fare media and a potential new approach of using network-branded prepaid cards.
