Sometimes Just Being Persistent Gets Lower Credit Card Rates

The Washington Post carries a Kiplinger.com story in today's personal finance section about Sam Sweet and how he's been effective at negotiating lower credit card interest rates from his card issuers. His strategy: he simply doesn't take "no" for an answer - typically escalating all the way to the president's office for each issuer.

In a column titled 'No surprise: First Data nearly led to last of Frontier', business columnist Al Lewis writes for the Denver Post about First Data CEO Michael Capellas and his comments about the recent bankruptcy filing by Frontier Airlines that resulted from First Data requiring an increase in reserves from Frontier.
