Valista has announced that mBlox will use ValistaPlus Payments globally to support mBlox's WAP billing system. Valista's payments platform will also support mBlox's PayforIt accreditation in the United Kingdom, "ensuring that consumers' payment experience is consistent, transparent and user-friendly, promoting a trustworthy environment when making one-off payments or establishing subscription services via their phone."

As more consumers use their mobile phones to purchase goods and services increasing transaction numbers, more sophisticated systems are required for customer care and transaction processing. The ValistaPlus Payments system augments mBlox's existing billing platform with a direct-to-bill charging service, creating a robust and secure billing system. With ValistaPlus Payments, merchants are able to optimize revenues through transaction transparency and provide appropriate security and fraud protection.

The mBlox platform with the addition of the ValistaPlus payments platform is PayforIt accredited and provides a standard for payment clarity, reliability and traceability, which ensures that consumers know exactly what they are paying for prior to the purchase. The mBox platform also provides access to cross carrier Adult Verification (AV), which supports the verification of a subscriber's age to allow blocking of inappropriate content.

ValistaPlus Payments provides a single payment system for multiple payment options including operator bills, credit/debit card, premium SMS, stored value and loyalty programs over multiple channels. This comprehensive payment functionality addresses today's increasing market demand for off-deck content while improving customer satisfaction through greater transparency and payment flexibility. The ValistaPlus Payments platform can be deployed as licensed software or as part of the Operator Payments Service, a managed service, which is in use by U.S. operator, Cricket Communications.

"While the market has understood that end-to-end transaction reliability and visibility is a critical component for customer care and satisfaction, operators are becoming more stringent regarding the delivery and billing of mobile content and services, requiring greater transparency and robust transaction processing," said Fran Heeran, chief technology officer of Valista. "mBlox recognizes the needs of operators and content providers and we are proud to be their chosen payment system as they expand their WAP billing platform on a global scale."
