Experian Consumer Direct Teams With Discover
Experian Consumer Direct has announced a collaboration with Discover Financial Services "to provide Credit ScoreTracker, a comprehensive credit score tracking product, for its more than 50 million cardmembers." The service will cost $7.99/month.
Credit ScoreTracker helps Discover(R) Cardmembers better understand the factors that influence their credit score and allows them to set a target credit score and monitor any changes. The ability for cardmembers to know their credit score makes a difference, and monitoring it allows them to make better-informed financial decisions. The product is available via the Internet or through First-Class Mail(R).
"Credit ScoreTracker is a powerful product for Discover Cardmembers to set their target credit score while understanding how their financial decisions affect their credit score over time," said Ty Taylor, president of Experian Consumer Direct. "Experian Consumer Direct is proud to work with Discover Financial Services to provide this valuable resource to its customers and continue our efforts to educate consumers about credit and help in their overall financial success."
A credit score can be used as a tool for lenders to more objectively evaluate someone's credit risk when he or she is applying for a credit card, car loan, personal loan or mortgage. Factors that affect a credit score include payment history, outstanding debt, credit history, inquiries and types of credit in use.
With Credit ScoreTracker, Discover Cardmembers are notified when there are key changes in their credit score and credit risk level and when they have met their target credit score. This provides members with valuable insight in understanding the factors that may affect their credit score and overall credit status. Members also receive access to their Experian credit report and credit score and a month-to-month historical view of their credit score performance.
