AirTran Airways Now Accepts PayPal
PayPal continues to expand its acceptance in the airline segment with today's announcement by AirTran Airways that it has teamed up with PayPal "to provide secure, private transactions for customers booking travel via www.airtran.com."
PayPal provides extra security and privacy for online transactions by allowing customers to buy online without sharing financial information with merchants. PayPal allows customers to use debit cards, bank accounts, credit cards or stored balances through private accounts.
"We're pleased to give AirTran Airways passengers enhanced convenience, security and privacy when they book travel on www.airtran.com," said Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airways vice president for marketing and sales. "PayPal offers a proven and popular method for handling our rapidly growing online transactions."
Tyler Hoffman, PayPal's senior director of merchant services, said the online business pioneer and eBay subsidiary is pleased to work with low-fare leader AirTran Airways.
"We are excited to welcome aboard AirTran Airways as the most recent airline to accept PayPal payments for online ticket purchases," he said. "We look forward to introducing millions of PayPal customers to AirTran's low fares and friendly service using the security and convenience of the PayPal accounts."
