American Express Incentive Services, Givex Licensing Agreement
American Express Incentive Services and Givex have announced they have entered into a licensing agreement under which Givex will license two AEIS patents (U.S. Patent Numbers 5,689,100 and 5,956,695) that enable AEIS’ patented merchant acceptance feature, DirectSpend, to strategically direct cardholder spend to selected merchants.
Givex processes single merchant gift cards for their retail clients as well as other gift cards, e-gift certificates, coupons and discount card programs. Under the agreement, Givex will utilize the unique DirectSpend process as part of its strategy to support current card products, increase sales, develop marketing opportunities and generate new customers.
