The PELORUS Group has announced "M-Payments & M-Banking: The Rise of Mobile Financial Services" being held June 27 & 28, 2007 at Caesars Atlantic City. "Dedicated to defining the sweeping changes that will be triggered as mobile financial services take hold, the event will focus on why mobile payments and banking services will become entrenched so quickly, and what banks, retailers, credit card issuers and other vested concerns should be doing to prepare for - and indeed capitalize on - the phenomenon."

Leading organizations from around the world will be joining The PELORUS Group and an unprecedented array of industry luminaries that include Ray Anderson, Bango; Rene Babi, RBA International; Tim Baker, Inside Contactless; Chris Bierbaum, Sprint; Jorge Fernandes, Mobibucks; Howard Gefen, Obopay; John Keane, Verisign; Jefferson Lilly, mBlox; Michael Lindsey, BancorpSouth; Tomasz Muehleisen, Atos Worldline; Neil Podmore, Verrus; Paul Rasori, Verifone; Joe Salesky, Clairmail; Zeev Shoval, Trivnet; Aashir Shroff, Yodlee; Drew Sievers, mFoundry; Moneet Singh, Sapphire Mobile Systems; Jeff Slowik, Payquik; Bhairav Trivedi, Payquik; Judie Rinearson & Carol Van Cleef, Bryan Cave, LLP; and a senior Firethorn executive.

Among the issues to be addressed:

  • What is the potential for m-payments and m-banking to erode the traditional payment and credit card systems?
  • When, why and how quickly will m-payments and m-banking catch on in the U.S.?
  • How do these mobile financial services fit in with other mobile commerce offerings?
  • What opportunities and threats do mobile payments and banking create for carriers, retailers, the financial industry, and companies that currently employ traditional payment systems?
  • What are the key regulatory, standards, fraud prevention, and security issues?
Come share the vision of mobile financial services and realize the opportunities springing from current and future initiatives. This conference has been structured to provide the most intensive information flow possible: Sessions committed to helping clarify and promote strategies that reflect new market dynamics and demand; sessions that seek to clearly define the benefits – and drawbacks – of mobile payments and banking campaigns; compelling presentations whose goal is to elicit cogent insight into how the emerging opportunities will evolve, and much, much more.
