Credit Card Interchange Fees Spark Disputes Among Small Merchants
Kim Leonard reports for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review about what some businesses in the Pittsburgh area feel about payment card interchange fees. Leonard reports that "as merchants have watched interchange fees rise from an average 1.5 percent to around 2 percent in the past five years or so, they've tried to enlist consumers, courts and political leaders in their campaign for changes."

I think this is an important issue that Americans don't know enough about. The credit card industry really needs a lot more transparency when it comes to issues like interchange fees and I’m glad to see someone reporting the issue. The Merchant Payments Coalition is a group that I work with and the more they can do to shed light on the issue the better.
