Evan Schuman reports for eWeek about what he calls a "surge in active support [by merchants] of alternative payment methods" and suggests that perhaps the credit card companies should be worried about the trend.

I think it's good trend! I hope as result we will see lowering credit card fees. Old economic rule always works - the higher competition the loer prices and higher quality. This gives banks something to think about!
