Authorize.Net Launches New Ecommerce Merchant Seal Program
Authorize.Net has announced the launch of the Authorize.Net Verified Merchant Seal - designed to confirm to consumers that Web sites displaying the seal are verified Authorize.Net merchants. According to the company, "the seal is available free of charge to Authorize.Net's 158,000 merchants for display on their Web sites to create confidence for consumers who may be concerned about the security of making online purchases."
For over ten years Authorize.Net has been one of the largest providers of secure and reliable Internet Protocol (IP) payment gateway services. The company is committed to providing its merchant customers with the highest level of transaction processing security, including being certified as compliant with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard. By launching the Authorize.Net Verified Merchant Seal, the company leverages both its unique position in the e-commerce industry and its vigilant commitment to the industry's highest security standards to boost consumer confidence on behalf of its merchants."One study after another has shown that there is still a significant percentage of the U.S. population that has concerns about shopping online," stated Roy Banks, Authorize.Net president. "By displaying the Authorize.Net Verified Merchant Seal on their Web sites, our customers can immediately enhance consumer confidence, potentially increasing their sales. We're pleased to offer the seal free as part of our payment gateway service. We simply want to do everything we can to help our merchants be successful. As the busy holiday season is now upon us, we truly believe displaying the seal can be a critical differentiator for them."
Rich Principal, chief brands officer of Innovative Beverage Concepts, which operates the e-commerce Web sites Mocafé.net and Teaology.com was one of a significant number of Authorize.Net customers to implement the seal during its soft-launch phase. "Innovative Beverage Concepts has been selling products online since 1996 and from our inception we've partnered with Authorize.Net to offer safe and secure credit card and electronic check transaction processing for our customers," stated Principal. "The Authorize.Net Verified Merchant Seal will significantly assist us in establishing confidence for our customers, undoubtedly leading to increased sales. In only a short time, we're already feeling the positive benefits of displaying the seal."
