Boston Nixes Credit Cards At New Parking Meters
Bruce Mohl reported last week for the Boston Globe that the City of Boston has discontinued the acceptance of Visa and MasterCard cards at newly installed multispace parking meters - because they were requiring card users to purchase a minimum of 2 hours of parking time for $2, in violation of credit card rules prohibiting card accepting merchants from requiring minimum payments on card transactions.
