RSA Security, Verid Team For Strong Authentication
RSA Security has announced that it is teaming with Verid in order to further expand the range of strong authentication technologies included in its comprehensive RSA Adaptive Authentication solution. RSA Security will integrate Verid's knowledge-based authentication (KBA) technology into the RSA Adaptive Authentication platform.
"Verid is a clear leader in providing knowledge-based authentication, which both we and our customers believe is an important part of a comprehensive approach to consumer protection," said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager, Consumer Solutions Division, RSA Security. "The RSA Adaptive Authentication solution is designed to meet the needs of various consumer segments as well as the different business requirements in the financial industry. Verid's knowledge-based authentication is another great addition to our mix of secure and user-friendly technologies."RSA Security's risk-based authentication technology analyzes every online transaction and scores the potential fraud-risk based on a broad range of metrics. Additional authentication is invoked - in real-time - for high-risk transactions. To date, the main methods of additional authentication included an automated phone call or secret questions. Now, Verid's knowledge-based authentication will also be offered to financial institutions as an option for high-risk situations.
Verid's knowledge-based authentication technology presents consumers with a series of personalized questions based on deep background data derived from a variety of public and commercially available information sources. The technology conducts sophisticated analytics to build a comprehensive knowledge profile and guides the consumer through an intuitive and interactive process until identity is confirmed.
"We're delighted to partner with a leader like RSA Security," said Chris Rickborn, COO of Verid. "The combination of our advanced KBA technology with the proven RSA Adaptive Authentication solution provides financial institutions and other businesses with a combination of robust technologies that will fit numerous security needs, preferences and scenarios."
