Best Buy Revamps Loyalty Program, New Rewards MasterCard
Best Buy has announced enhancements to its customer loyalty program, Reward Zone, including the launch of the Best Buy Reward Zone program MasterCard card, issued by HSBC. The Reward Zone program will now allow customers to choose between two levels of rewards.
“Our customers told us that they wanted a rewards program that was free. They were also looking to accelerate their reward potential. The changes we have made to the Reward Zone program directly address their requests,” stated Barry Judge, Best Buy senior vice president of marketing. “Reward Zone is a good example of how we listen to our customers and make meaningful changes in the Best Buy shopping experience.”
The Best Buy Reward Zone membership fee has now been eliminated, offering free access to the program for everyone. Members earn one point for every dollar of qualifying purchases at Best Buy stores and online at www.BestBuy.com. In addition, they receive exclusive deals, sweepstakes and memorabilia offers, as well as access to special member events. With the program improvements, members can enroll either in store or online. Members can choose to receive reward certificates by either mail or email by accessing www.MyRewardZone.com.
The Best Buy Reward Zone program MasterCard card is another way for Best Buy to recognize and reward loyal customers, and provides automatic enrollment to the popular Reward Zone program. The card enables consumers to accelerate the rate at which rewards are earned. Purchases made with the Best Buy Reward Zone program MasterCard card earn 4 percent on Best Buy purchases and up to 2 percent on purchases made at the more than 24 million locations MasterCard is accepted.
“The ability to leverage Best Buy and its incredible brand promise, as well as the powerful Reward Zone loyalty platform, into a co-branded MasterCard is the natural progression of HSBC’s successful, long-term relationships with both Best Buy and MasterCard Worldwide,” said Joe Hoff, CEO of Retail Services for HSBC. “Our expertise in credit cards combined with the success of the Best Buy Reward Zone program will provide a better customer experience and contribute greatly to building card programs that continually lead the industry.”
“MasterCard Worldwide is always seeking opportunities to provide additional customized benefits that cater to the needs and interests of our cardholders, customer financial institutions and retail partners,” said Walt Macnee, President, The Americas, MasterCard Worldwide. “With the Best Buy Reward Zone program MasterCard card from HSBC, cardholders will have all the purchasing convenience, flexibility and security of a MasterCard while accelerating their reward potential at Best Buy.”
