Banks Make Online Services More Secure
Vauhini Vara writes for the Wall St. Journal about the steps various US banks are taking to implement stronger authentication for customer access to their online banking systems - at least partially in response to new security guidelines from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) issued last year. One byproduct - increased customer service calls to banks as some of their consumers struggle to get used to the stronger authentication.
