TNS FusionPoint Express Enables Dial POS Upgrade To IP
Transaction Network Services has announced the availability of FusionPoint Express, providing a way for legacy dial and serial point-of-sale (POS) devices to be upgraded to internet-protocol (IP) networks to major card processors, reducing the cost, complexity and duration of POS communications.
"FusionPoint Express by TNS is an extension of our FusionPoint product line and will enable IP migration of data transaction services at convenience stores and service stations across the country," said Heidi Goff, executive vice president and general manager, TNS Point-of-Service (POS) division. "TNS is successfully offering this simple, self-installed, plug-and-play solution to the market for improved communications efficiency and faster transaction response time."FusionPoint Express by TNS eliminates the need for merchants to replace current ATM and POS devices in order to migrate to IP communication, and utilizes merchants' existing broadband connectivity regardless of provider. To ensure business continuity, the solution includes dial back-up support in case of broadband service interruption, as well as split dial support for up to six destinations. Additionally, FusionPoint Express by TNS offers real-time device status reporting and web-based order entry through TNSOnline.
"TNS has found the solution to meet the growing demand for IP conversion at the point-of-sale - FusionPoint Express by TNS not only meets this need for our convenience store and merchant customers but does so without incurring hard and soft costs associated with replacing legacy equipment," said Don Bumgardner, vice president, convenience stores and petroleum, TNS.
