BitPass Inks Deal With Broadcast Giant Entercom
BitPass has announced an agreement with Entercom, one of the five largest radio broadcasting companies in the US, to enable subscription access to online broadcast content.
This first BitPass/Entercom initiative will allow WEEI fans in Boston to access the popular "Whiner Line", a mainstay program for Boston sports fanatics to enjoy fellow fans' lamentations on local sports. WEEI is one of Entercom's most popular stations, with exclusive radio broadcast rights to the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics games. Using BitPass, Boston sports enthusiasts can purchase different types of subscriptions at various price points; for example, club members are offered discount pricing in exchange for their patronage."Entercom chose BitPass' digital commerce engine for its ease of implementation and its flexibility to support a wide range of purchase types and price points," said Amy Van Hook, Director of Marketing Services for Entercom. "The BitPass solution allows us to simplify single-purchase downloads, subscriptions and up-sells to all types of digital content."
Entercom is one of many organizations, ranging from United Media to ABC, utilizing BitPass to augment free content with purchasable premium offerings. BitPass customers appreciate the flexibility and time-to-market advantages of employing the BitPass best-of-class specialty commerce solution, as opposed to cobbling together the various technologies required to create their own.
