Tips For Negotiating With Credit Card Issuers
AP reporter Pamela Yip provides consumers some tips regarding how to negotiate with credit card issuer customer service representatives to get the most favorable outcome.
"We understand there are extraordinary situations that come up," says Jessica Iben, spokeswoman for Chase Card Services. "We give our representatives tools to use to work with cardholders." Those include waiving late-payment fees and lowering your annual percentage rate, or APR. "It's on an individual case-by-case basis," Iben says.
