PayPal Releases Mobile Payment Service

Tags » Mobile Payments, PayPal, PayPal Mobile

Mylene Mangalindan reports for the Wall St. Journal that PayPal will formally introduce its mobile payment service tomorrow as PayPal President Jeff Jordan delivers a keynote address to the CTIA Wireless 2006 conference.

PayPal has updated its home page tonight to link to information about PayPal Mobile. Wireless carriers in the US supporting PayPal Mobile include Alltel, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon. Cingular is conspicuous by its absence from the list of supported wireless carriers. Still no news tonight about participating Text to Buy merchants.
