Intel Invests In Japan's BitWallet, Edy Electronic Money
Kyodo News reports that Intel has invested 5 billion yen (about $42 Million) into Japan's BitWallet, provider of the Felica-based Edy electronic money service.
Officials at the two companies said they may press ahead with Edy business on a global basis, rather than limiting its use to the Japanese market where the card can be used in over 31,000 convenience stores and other retail outlets subscribing to the service.
