EU Finds Card Fees Are Too High
Adam Cohen reports for the Wall St. Journal on initial findings by the European Commission that fees for credit cards and other electronic payments are unreasonably high.
Since taking office in November 2004, the commission's top antitrust regulator Neelie Kroes has initiated two main investigations: the financial-sector study underpinning today's report and a similar look at Europe's energy market.
