Visa USA Reports $1.23 Trillion in 2005 Sales Volume

Visa USAReuters reports that Visa USA has announced that VIsa cardholders spent $1.23 trillion during 2005, up 17.5 percent from the prior year. A total of 510.9 million Visa cards were in cardholders' wallets at year end, up 12 percent.

U.S. consumer credit card sales volume rose 8.6 percent to $563.5 billion, while check card volume rose 18.7 percent to $410.5 billion. Commercial and small business card volume rose 25.7 percent to $142.3 billion, and Interlink online debit volume soared 65.7 percent to $112.4 billion.
