MyECheck Prepares For Mainstream Launch
Mark Anderson writes for the Sacramento Business Journal about El Dorado Hill-based MyEcheck which he reports is preparing for a mass market launch of its echeck payment service.
From the MyECheck web site:
An electronically signed paper check prints at our processing center in real-time, is digitally imaged, and immediately electronically sent to the check writer's bank for payment to our account. The company says its service is completely separate from the ACH, not subject to NACHA rules, and that MyEchecks are accepted at every US bank that offers checking accounts.
Anderson reports the companies early focus has been in the online gambling space:
The company has been processing transactions for Internet gambling sites -- the "low-hanging fruit" in the world of Internet payment, said CEO Ed Starrs. It is preparing to move up to processing payments for airline Internet sites."We started with the gambling sites because we could charge them a lot while we worked up our systems," he said.
