Consumers With Debit Card Reissues Share Experiences
The Consumerist is collecting stories from consumers who have recently had their debit cards replaced by their banks - several of which involve Washington Mutual in what appears to be the routine migration of WaMu's debit cards from Visa to MasterCard and not the result of any debit card data compromises.

Consumerist.com here. Sure, it could be a routine migration. Or, since Visa was involved in the reissue of Citibank cards which was a result of the data compromise, perhaps WaMu decided to switch to a more secure provider. Or, it's a smokescreen by WaMu. Not to get all conspiratorial and paranoid but the timing is suspect and we think suspicion is warranted given how little information the cabal of implicated parties seems willing to disclose to the still at-risk consumer.
