Annals of Technology: Paying for Parking

Tags » Emerging Payments

Steven Lemongello reports for The Jersey Journal on how the implementation of new fangled parking lot pay stations is leaving some drivers puzzled. Amazingly, the new pay stations are still cash-only acceptance devices.

t sounds simple enough. After parking, a driver walks up to the machine, punches in his or her parking space number, pays - with coins or bills, but not credit cards - then hits the green button to get a receipt. But reading it and doing it are different things, and some motorists have been struggling.
Reminds me of the struggle I went through the last time I got a new cell phone!
