When PayPal Becomes the Back Office, Too
Julie Brick reports for the New York Times on how small businesses are using PayPal to invoice and receive payments from clients.
There are some risks to consumers and small businesses that use PayPal, but the company continues to refine its buyer and seller protection policies and to offer new services. In any case, customers do not have many other options, although Google has been making overtures to the payments market, according to Ms. Litan of Gartner, and may initiate a similar payment service through its search engine. "For now," she said, "PayPal has got the small-business-payment market pretty well wrapped up."
