Visa International's Growth in Latin America

Tags » Visa

Jorge Porter reports for Business News Americas on Visa's projected growth of 25% annually in its Latin America and Caribbean region for the next three to five years.

Eduardo Eraña, president of Visa International, Latin America and the Caribbean region, commented that, while Latin America only represents 4% of Visa's worldwide billing, it is the fastest growing region in the world.

"We have a lot of room to grow as the region is just beginning its development phase. There is still an enormous growth opportunity as only 5% of overall private consumer expenditures are conducted with Visa cards in the region. Two years ago that figure was only 3%," he said.
