PayPal China Is An Open Platform
Pacific Epoch has posted portions of an interview with PayPal China country manager Jeff Liao (reg. reqd).
We have Netease, we have Tom Online, we have a strategic alliance with ChinaPay - the alliance is to share their Internet merchant base with us. PayPal, "Bei Bao" in China is going to be an open platform. So almost any Chinese Internet site can use PayPal.

Perhaps a mobile solution that allows cell phone users to "beam" money to other cell phones (or PDAs) will emerge. Prior to PayPal's 1998 version, they used to market person to person beaming of money between to Palm Pilots. Their company was called Confinity.
I think the "killer app" will be cell-to-cell transfers of money WITHOUT bank account tie-ins that also allow for peer to peer lending (www.duck9.com).
