USA Technologies, AT&T Wireless in Cashless Alliance
USA Technologies and AT&T Wireless have announced an agreement to offer wireless payments.
"Together, we will enable everyday machines, whether it be a vending machine or a kiosk, to wirelessly process credit/debit and cashless payment," said Stephen P. Herbert, President and COO, USA Technologies. "We're also giving wireless customers on-line auditing and monitoring capabilities to allow for even greater control and service enhancements -- all adding up to even higher profits for the operator." he said."We're fast becoming a cashless society and innovative solutions such as those provided by USA Technologies give companies in the vending and other industries a reliable, cost-effective way to tap into this trend," said Charlie Bolton, Vice President, corporate markets group, for AT&T Wireless. "We're pleased to be working with USA Technologies to offer to their customers a wireless telemetry application that opens up so many exciting and different uses in so many new and emerging markets."
"The number of people wanting to make purchases with a credit card or other cashless methods for small ticket items are accelerating dramatically, and one such way is through the use of a wireless network," said Mr. Herbert. "We're finding our customers want the convenience of both cashless purchases and the capabilities of the nationwide AT&T Wireless GPRS network. It provides our customers with a more affordable solution, greater convenience and ease-of-use, and certainly more options," Mr. Herbert said.
