Dexit - Designed for Small Purchases
Erin Pooley writes in Canada's Globe and Mail about Dexit, a prepaid payment product.
"We as Canadians love electronic payment, but there hasn't been a viable solution to deal with going after those small cash transactions," Dexit chief executive officer Renah Persofsky said. "That's what our business is — we're an instead-of-cash service."Using a key-fob-sized tag linked to a prepaid account, customers can purchase up to $100 in merchandise by tapping their electronic tag on one of 250 Dexit readers in downtown Toronto, including locations such as Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Druxy's delis, Petro-Canada gas stations, Pharma Plus Drugmarts and Impark parking lots.
