Wells Fargo Hits $12 Billion in Internet Payments
Wells Fargo announced this morning that it processed nearly $12 billion in Internet merchant payments in 2003, a 100 percent growth over 2002.
In the e-payments arena, Wells Fargo was the first financial services company to process a secure credit card transaction on the internet. Today, Wells Fargo provides e-payments solutions to major brands, including Goodguys.com, Cooking.com and Overstock.com, helping them save management time as well as simplify reporting and system integration. These solutions also help merchants, such as these, mitigate both fraud and the costly chargeback process."We are well positioned to provide our customers flexible payment services, whether it's a standard merchant account, the ability to accept and settle in local currencies, or enhanced fraud protection," said Debra Rossi, executive vice president, Business Internet Services at Wells Fargo. "Wells Fargo is the only financial institution to provide such a comprehensive suite of online payment services."
