Providian Launches Two New Card Programs

With the Providian Real Rewards program, cardmembers can earn points faster, because they'll be rewarded for more of the ways that they're already using their card: making purchases (one point per $1 spent), maintaining a balance (10 points for every $100 in revolving balances every billing cycle), and making payments on time (500 points for on-time payments in six consecutive billing cycles).

With the Providian Real Information program, customers will have free online access to their FICO credit score and a supporting credit information summary. In addition to free FICO scores, Providian customers can use a "score simulator" to see how certain behaviors, such as paying late or on time and paying more than the minimum due, can affect their credit score. They can also view a snapshot of where and when they are using their credit card, and get information and tips on managing their credit. This groundbreaking service was created by Providian working in partnership with a national credit reporting agency (TransUnion) and the creator of FICO credit scores (Fair Isaac).
