Wachovia First Among Banks in Online Customer Respect Study
Wachovia Bank says it's the best at respecting its online customers based upon a study completed by the Customer Respect Group.
"Everything we do at Wachovia is aimed at placing the customer first," said Lawrence Baxter, chief eCommerce officer for Wachovia. "This recognition is a testament that we provide our customers, and potential customers, with information they find useful and relevant."The study's authors cite wachovia.com's privacy statement as a major factor in the high rating. The study noted that Wachovia's privacy statement uses clear and straightforward language and immediately informs customers about the choices they have in managing how their information is used for marketing purposes. A section titled "Privacy at a Glance" lists those choices, provides a quick overview of Wachovia's privacy practices and includes tips for customers on protecting their own privacy.
"Our Privacy Statement is crafted around the customer experience," said Campbell Tucker, head of Wachovia's Privacy Office. "We want customers to understand how we protect their information and use it to provide more personalized and efficient service."
